DALLAS, TX, October, 2011:
Market Diagnostics International LLC (“MDxI”) announces the
availability of its first syndicated reports on the US
clinical laboratory testing market based on data from the
College of American Pathologists (“CAP”).
The first three
reports cover the Chemistry, Molecular Infectious
Disease and Microbiology markets:

The chemistry
report includes detailed testing data from 4,676
US laboratories for 58 analytes performed on
10,825 instrument systems.
-
The microbiology
report includes detailed testing data from 2,777
laboratories for 8 analytes performed on 5,513
instrument systems.
-
The molecular
infectious disease report includes detailed
testing data from 1,803 laboratories for 33
analytes performed on 3,849 instrument systems.
“For the first time
the IVD industry has access to the kind of
near-census marketing information that has become
standard in the pharmaceutical industry,” commented
Larry Worden, Vice President and Senior Partner.
“The response has been uniformly positive among our
growing subscriber base for these reports.”
Earlier this year,
MDxI signed an 8-year data licensing agreement with
the CAP to publish market reports based on data from
its extensive proficiency testing program (“PT”).
Data received from the CAP PT Program have been
combined with MDxI’s detailed database of US
clinical laboratories and then organized into
comprehensive, detailed market reports by analyte.
The reports have detailed demographic cuts (e.g.,
type of lab such as hospital, reference, public
health, bed-size breaks within hospitals and
region). At a minimum, they provide:

share of
laboratories using each method and/or
brand/instrument system or commercial test kit
for testing each analyte;
-
the installed
base of testing systems by laboratory
discipline;
-
related share
changes from cycle to cycle, including
underlying churn (i.e., switching patterns from
brand to brand or method to method); and
-
profiles of the
analytes tested on specific instrument systems
(menu utilization profiles).
Market reports will
be provided to customers every six (6) months
(second and fourth quarters of each year), providing
them with an accurate, ongoing picture of the
competitive field, and their place in it, for each
of the market areas in which they participate.
